Bangladesh's export earnings for September 2024 saw a 6.78% increase, totaling $3.51 billion. This marks a $220 million increase compared to the $3.29 billion earned in the same month last year. This data, prepared by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) based on real-time shipment data from the NBR's Asycuda World system, was presented by EPB Vice Chairman Anwar Hossain during a press conference. 


Notably, the EPB has committed to providing monthly detailed analyses of export earnings from now on.


In the first quarter (July to September) of the fiscal year 2024-25, Bangladesh's export earnings grew by 5.04%, reaching $11.37 billion, up from $10.82 billion in the corresponding period of 2023-24. The readymade garments (RMG) sector dominated, contributing $9.29 billion with a growth of 5.34%. Of this, knitwear exports amounted to $5.22 billion (a 5.72% growth), while woven garments earned $4.07 billion (a 4.85% growth). 


For September 2024 alone, the apparel sector's export earnings were $2.78 billion, reflecting a 6% year-on-year growth compared to September 2023.
